Having set ourselves the challenge of walking everyday though England’s 3rd lockdown, we wanted to stay close to home for day 2 as the weather was a bit grey and damp so headed to the racecourse. We had been told there was a walk around the outside of the whole course so thought we may aswell go and see what it was like.
We parked at the park and ride which was free, put our walking boots on (we had a feeling it would be muddy) and set off along the path. At first it was pretty easy going with some lovely views over the course.

However, it wasn’t long before the path just turned into a massive mud swamp and it was quite difficult to wade through it! Stuart was regretting not wearing his wellies whilst the mud just went over the top of my walking shoes and into my socks!

It didn’t take long before we reached some fields which made walking slightly easier. I also decided to check whether there were any geo-caches and discovered that there was an entire geo-cache trail on our route. Unfortunately we had missed the first few but we were able to find the next 4 – although these days it tends to be me and Stu who look for them whilst Tom and Izzy just wait for us!

We followed the route past the Gloucester and Warwickshire Steam Railway line and back to the car. It was probably just over 4km in total but a decent walk for a miserable day.
