Vancouver, Canada – Lynn Canyon

For our last day in Vancouver we had thought about visiting Capilano Suspension Bridge but the tickets were very expensive at $75 per person. We saw online that people had recommended Lynn Canyon which was free (apart from parking charges) so we decided to visit.

We arrived just past 9am, parked up and began our hike by heading towards the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge. There were no other people around so we had plenty of time to take lots of photos. It was surrounded by trees and a river ran underneath. We could also see a waterfall.

We then hiked through the woods and arrived at the 30 foot pool. The scenery was spectacular and the water was crystal clear. Stu, Tom & Izzy took their shoes off so they could go paddling – despite it being sunny and 25 degrees outside the water was absolutely freezing!

We then followed a trail and returned to the car. We really enjoyed our time at Lynn Canyon and were so glad that we visited.

We headed back into the city as wanted to pick up some lunch from Granville Island as we had seen that it was full of food stands. The kids ordered crepes and we took some photos of us all with the harbour in the background.

We then headed back to Stanley Park as I had booked tickets for the outdoor swimming pool at Second Beach. We were a bit early for our allocated time slot so I was able to explore the rose garden which we had driven passed a couple of days earlier. The flowers were all in bloom so I spent ages trying (unsuccessfully) to take some artistic photos!

Chilling under a tree – waiting for our time slot at the swimming pool.

As we returned to the car we noticed the Canadian Police arrive with their horses. One of the horses in the stables poked his head out so Tom & Izzy were able to greet him!

We made our way to the Second Beach Swimming Pool which is a beautiful outdoor pool next to the sea. As tickets were allocated it wasn’t too busy and there was plenty of space to set ourselves up next to the water. We had a two hour slot which was plenty of time and it was a really lovely way to end our time in Vancouver. The following day we were making our way to Whistler.
