It was a bit of a grey morning so we decided to explore some of the coastline on the south of the island – and try and find a few geocaches! We began by heading to Los Hervideros – which is an area of rugged volcanic coastline. We parked up and headed onto the volcanic rocks as there was a geo-cache hidden in them. We couldn’t find the cache but it was fun to explore the rocks.

Geo-caching on the rocks!
We then headed to Charco Verde. Stu had read that there was a little hike we could do to visit a green lake. We parked up and did the short 10 minute walk – it wasn’t very green but that was probably due to the weather!

We then continued along the coast to the salt pans. We hadn’t booked a guided tour so we were not able to go near the salt but there was a headland walk we could do which gave us some good views.

We were starting to get hungry so drove into Playa Blanca to see if we could find a nice restaurant for lunch. We couldn’t find anywhere we wanted to eat so decided to go home instead and cook.
After lunch the sun decided to make an appearance and we didn’t really want to drive anywhere but there was a museum 200 meters down the road from our villa so we wandered down.
Museo Lagomar
Museo Lagomar is a former house that was built into the volcanic rocks and was once owned by the actor Omar Sharif. We were able to walk around the rooms and the gardens and it was really good fun for about half an hour or so.

It was starting to get quite hot at this point so we wandered back to our villa for another afternoon in the pool!
