Mumbles, Wales – A Trip to the Lighthouse

I had always wanted to visit Mumbles and the lighthouse and we realised it was about half way between Pembroke and Gloucester so it was the perfect place for a stop on our way home.

We parked in the carpark at the top of the cliffs and began by walking down to the pier. Unfortunately it was closed (which we hadn’t realised) so we then had to make our way back up the hill to the carpark to then take the other path down to the beach. When we reached the rocks we had beautiful views of Mumbles lighthouse.

The tide was going out and it is possible to walk to the lighthouse but as we still had a long journey home we just played on the rocks for about 30 minutes.

We then moved the car a few hundred meters up the road as there was a very short trail to a lookout tower which Stu & I walked whilst Tom & Izzy waited in the car. We then headed back home to Gloucester. We enjoyed mumbles for a short stop but I don’t think we would return.
