Day 5 – Travel to Germany
We left Paris quite early as we had a 6 hour drive to our next AirBnb which was in Herrischried, Germany. Also, we needed to pick Stu up from Zurich airport later that evening. We picked the location as we thought we would be able to explore the Black Forest and maybe visit Switzerland for the day.
I followed the Sat nav and as we were getting close to the property it sent me up a forest track. If I had paid attention I would have realised the sign post said no cars but after a minute or two of driving it was not possible to turn around as it was a walkers track so we kept going and luckily rejoined a road 1 km later!
We checked into our property, had some tea and then headed to Zurich to collect Stu.

Day 6 – Titisee & Rheinfalls
I used Trip Advisor to find things to do in the area and all the tours they recommended visited Titisee – so that is where we headed! It was a lovely town with cuckoo clock shops and a river running through it.

Exploring Titisee
We wanted to have a traditional German lunch – so Tom ordered fish & chips and Izzy chose Spaghetti bolognaise!!! I chose schnitzel and Stu was the most adventurous by having pork with a redcurrant & cream sauce. We did have black forest gâteaux for pudding.

Lunch in Titisee
Our next stop of the day was Rheinfalls – the largest waterfall in Europe. We parked up, went for a walk to see the waterfall and picked up a geo-cache.

Day 7 – Lucerne
It was a beautiful day so rather than go to Zurich we decided to head to Lake Lucerne instead. We parked in the town and wandered round the Lake for a bit. We then climbed the city walls which had beautiful views over the town.

Views of Lucerne from the city walls
We explored the town for a bit and found the most gorgeous cathedral which we were able to go in.

On our drive home around the lake we came across a carpark with views of the lake. We pulled in and there was a small jetty so Tom & Izzy were able to paddle in the water. We thought Lake Lucerne was stunning.

Paddle time!
Day 8 – Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen
It was due to be another lovely day and after enjoying Lucerne so much we decided to venture to the lakes and mountains – even though it was over a two hour drive and Stu was flying home in the evening.
We began by heading to Interlaken. The water was so blue and we played on the side of the lake for a bit and ate our packed lunches.

Interlaken, Switzerland
We then drove 25 minutes up the road to Lauterbrunnen to see Staubbachfall cascading off the mountains. We were able to hike up to the falls and walk behind them.

Exploring Lauterbrunnen
We needed to get Stu to Zurich Airport so started making the drive back. On route we found another lake and Tom & Izzy spent more time paddling.

Day 9 – Chill Day
We only had one day left in Germany before moving to Belgium and as we had spent the last few days travelling long distances, we decided to stay at home. Next to our property was a small park and crazy golf so we spent the day chilling.
