The Big Sur & Santa Barbara

It was the last stage of our California Road trip and we were driving from San Francisco to LA airport along the Big Sur and having a couple of nights in Santa Barbara on route.

Day 18 – The Big Sur

We set off in the morning and after a quick beach stop our first destination on the Big Sur was Bixby Creek Bridge. We had a wander, took some photos and found a geocache. We then carried on to the next vista point where we found another geo-cache. The scenery was lovely but after an hour we were a little bit bored. We struggled to find places to stop to get out of the car and also found the driving hard work as it was slow and along twisting roads.

However – we eventually arrived at the elephant seal look out and there were so many elephant seals lying on the beach. This was definitely the highlight of the drive.

We were glad to finally reach our Airbnb in Santa Barbara and stopped off at a Target on route where Izzy bought lots of slime making supplies to take back to England!

Day 19 – Santa Barbara Beach

It was our last day before flying back home so we decided to have a beach day. We headed to Santa Barbara beach where we played in the sand, paddled in the sea and had lunch.
