New Jersey, USA – Manasquan Reservoir

It was a bit of a misty day but we wanted to go out for a walk and see a bit more of New Jersey. We were spending every weekend going to new places as we wanted to see as much of the area as we could whilst living there.

We didn’t want to travel too far so we found a walk at Manasquan Reservoir (about 30 minutes from Monroe) which also had a geocache trail around it! We arrived at 9.30am and headed off for a walk.

It was so misty that you couldn’t see to the other side of the reservoir which meant there were some really good photo opportunities.

There were lots of tree trunks sticking out of the water – I don’t know whether they were dead trees or just because it was winter they had lost all their branches and leaves.

We walked for about 45 minutes and found 7 geocaches before turning back as we were not going to walk the whole 5 mile loop. We thought it would be nice to come back with the kids and bring our bikes as there was a really well maintained gravel pathway.
