Canmore, Canada – An early morning walk around the town.

After our 9 km hike the day before Tom & Izzy wanted a rest day. Stu & my legs were also quite tired so we left the kids at the AirBnb and went for a walk around the local area. There were some beautiful trails and boardwalks next to the river so we strolled along them – finding the odd geocache – and taking lots of photos as the scenery was spectacular.

Early morning walk through Canmore

We came across quite a few old bridges

Our short walk ended up being 6km and it was approaching lunchtime so on the way home we stopped off at subway to pick up sandwiches for our lunch.

Stu & I decided we had one more hike left in us so decided to head off to the Grassi Lakes Trail which was only a ten minute drive away – we gave Tom & Izzy the day off! We parked up and headed to the lake – regretting our decision as our feet hurt. The first part of the trail was uphill through woodland and we had to cross a waterfall but we eventually reached the lake. The water was really green and we could see fish swimming around.

We headed home and we had both done almost 21,000 steps – it was supposed to be a rest day and we decided that we were both officially broken!!! It was our last night as the next day we were headed to Jasper and driving the Icefields Parkway and we were treated to a beautiful evening view from our apartment.
