San Francisco – Alcatraz, Muir Woods and Napa Valley
3 nights in San Francisco. We toured Alcatraz, saw the sealions on Pier 39, visited Muir Woods and did a day trip to Napa Valley.
Las Vegas – the return!
Making our way from Zion National Park to San Francisco, It was a 10 hour drive so we spent a night in Las Vegas at the Venetian and then spent a night in Bakersfield. We visited Calico Ghost Town on route.
Zion National Park – Hiking ‘The Narrows’ and ‘Canyon Overlook’
One night staying at Zion National Park where we hiked 'The Narrows' and 'Canyon Overlook' trail. We stayed at the Hampton Inn which had the most beautiful setting.
Page, Arizona – Antelope Canyon tour
One day in Page where we visited Antelope Canyon. We were part of a tour and entered and walked through the slot canyons.
Grand Canyon, Arizona – 2 Days at the South Rim
We travelled from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon for 2 nights where we stayed at Thunderbird Lodge on the South Rim. We visited Hoover Dam on our way out of Vegas
Las Vegas, Nevada
After 4 nights in LA we drove to Vegas (partly along Route 66) for a couple of nights. We visited the main sights along the Strip and explored Red Rock Canyon State Park.
Los Angeles, California
The first leg of our three week Californian road trip.... spending 4 nights in Los Angeles and visiting Beverly Hills, Malibu Beach, Griffith Observatory, El Matador Beach and Santa Monica.
Vresse-sur-Semois, Belgium
The final stop on our Europe road-trip was Vresse-sur-Semois in Belgium. We didn't do much exploring but went kayaking on the river each day.
Black Forest, Germany
Part 2 of our Europe trip was 5 nights staying in the Black Forest. We explored Titisee and Rhine Falls. However, we spent more time in Switzerland and visited Lake Lucerne, Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen.
