It was our first full day in Kuala Lumpur so we were up quite early as we wanted to drive out to the Batu Caves before it got too busy. The Batu Caves are limestone caves at the top of a 272 step colourful staircase and contain Hindu Shrines. We went down to the hotel buffet breakfast which was one of the best we have ever had. There were so many food stations from around the world. Stu and I began with an English selection before sampling the Indian Station!

We then headed off to the caves which were just over 15 minutes away. When we arrived we were greeted by so many monkeys (and pigeons) which were wandering around the entrance.

Entrance to the caves.
We climbed up the stairs to the caves which was quite difficult in the heat. We did have to keep stopping and the staircase was full of monkeys playing.

The caves were much larger than we expected them to be. They were also quite clean and again they were full of monkeys on the walls and in the bushes.

Inside the Batu Caves
We only stayed for about an hour and then he returned to the car and headed to Genting Highlands which is a massive shopping mall up on a hill. As we drove up the hill we actually went into the clouds and could barely see anything! The mall was really plush and as it was lunchtime we found a Chinese Dim Sum restaurant which looked really nice. We ordered beef noodle soup, pork, sweet and sour, spring rolls and some bao buns shaped as panda bears!

Izzy then found a really cool clothes shop and then we visited the indoor fair were Tom & Izzy went on a couple of the rides.

We returned to the hotel where I used the gym and we chilled out for the evening.
